The Mirror Party

The Qalandiya series was the cornerstone for the Life of a Photo project, which describes the future of both the Qalandiya checkpoint and the refugee camp until the year 2087. It predicts the emergence of a new Palestinian political party called the “Mirror Party”, who - after receiving the majority vote - places a large mirror along the apartheid wall, making it disappear. This sci-fi or political fiction portrays the future, emphasizing that the goal of this proposed future was to talk about the bitter reality and urging the viewer to strip themselves of time in order to read time differently, and rewrite history to suit a possible hope; meaning to rekindle this vision of hope in the present without turning a blind eye to the issues that call for constructive self-criticism for a better future.
